Lauren Pope

Lauren Pope is from Los Angeles, and resides in Edinburgh. Her poetry pamphlet, Announce This, was published by Templar Poetry, and shortlisted for the 2018 Callum Macdonald Memorial Awards. She is a 2019 Manchester Poetry Prize Finalist, and was Highly Commended in the 2018 Wigtown Poetry Competition. Her work has appeared in publications such as GutterMagma, The North, The Rialto, and Eyewear Publishing’s Best New British and Irish Poets 2017. She runs the Scottish Universities’ International Summer School (SUISS) at the University of Edinburgh, where she is currently pursuing a PhD on semiotics and the anorexic aesthetic in the early poetry of Medbh McGuckian and Louise Glück.
